"El secreto está a salvo: cada uno de los cuadros de Clara Viale afirma el valor y la belleza de lo oculto. Curioso ritual de desenmascaramiento, porque lo oculto es lo visible; la apariencia, el secreto está a salvo. "The secret is safe: each and every painting by Clara Viale asserts the value and beauty of the concealed. Curious ritual of unmasking, because the concealed is what is visible; appearance, the secret is safe. The only non revealed circumstance dwells in the language- elements and colors chosen with extreme economy-, but still changes occur at sight, within the scene that the objects protect. Imminence without expectations, silence has begun to speak, to make gestures. Su espíritu aventurero deja huellas en sus obra

Hay muchas cosas que a Clara la inspiran para crear, pero sin duda sus viajes han dejado una huella en su estilo.
Estuvo varias veces en Europa "casi siempre impulsada por un espíritu aventurero pero muchas otras por amor", confiesa y destaca que esos viajes fueron los que la hicieron percibir el arte de forma "más aguda  pero sin dejar la inspiración de lado".
…su mentor, el artista multifacético Pipo Ferrari, "un hombre del Renacimiento”, explica Clara, marcó su rumbo en el trazo. "Pero lo que más aprendí con el  es a concebir la imagen como un todo", afirma.
Con Ferrari entendió que sus pinturas estaban dentro de ella, solo debía darles tiempo para que aparecieran. Y llegaron en un viaje. Durante una recorrida por Sudamérica se quedó maravillada por la estética de los carnavales, con figuras, ángeles y máscaras de las culturas de los pueblos originarios en su sincretismo.
¿Sus influencias? "Uno se va enamorando de distintos artistas y va haciendo como un museo de todos sus amores", dice. Sus marionetas recrean sueños de infancia en pasteles y óleos, extraídas de variadas culturas.

Mientras Clara se prepara para recibir a sus alumnos, arregla con esmero el taller que hizo en su casona de Victoria, barrio que la conquistó…

People in focus: Today Clara Viale
Her adventurous spirit leaves a mark in her work

Clara Viale is inspired by various sources but her travels have with no doubt left a mark in her style.
She was several times in Europe “almost always driven by her adventurous spirit but sometimes by love”, she confesses and points out that those trips made her perceive art “in a more acute way without resigning inspiration”
…Her mentor, the multifacetic artist Pippo Ferrari, a “Renaissance man”, strongly influenced her. “But what I most learned with him is to conceive the image as a whole”, she says.
With Ferrari she understood that her paintings were within her, it was a question of time till they emerged. And they appeared in a trip. During a travel in South America she was marvelled by the esthetic of the carnivals, with figures, angels and masks of the originary people in their synchretism.
Her influences? “One falls in love many times with different artists and builds a museum within with one´s old lovers”, she says. Her marionettes recreate dreams of childhood in oil and soft pastels, drawing elements from various traditions.

While she prepares  herself to receive her students she tidies up the studio she created in her old house in Victoria, the neighbourhood that won her heart.

Artistas patagónicos a la conquista del mundo

La Fundación Patagonia, Arte y Desafío, realiza una primera muestra en la región. Fueron seleccionados una serie de artistas, en este caso, pintores, cuyas obras están expuestas en el complejo Paihuén de San Martín de los Andes.
En el marco de este evento, estuvimos conversando con dos artistas de esta región, uno de ellos ya consagrado internacionalmente como es Georg Miciu Nicolaevici y con Clara Viale, artista de San Carlos de Bariloche, que fuera seleccionada por esta fundación para apoyar su obra y su difusión al país y al mundo.

Clara Viale explica que desde que se radicó en Bariloche incorporó un color que nunca antes había representado, el celeste y también verdes, "es maravilloso". “Ahora trabajo mucho más con colores fríos y con ocres fortísimos, de la estepa, que tienen una presencia creativa extraordinaria".

Avanzamos en la charla e inevitablemente ingresamos en el proceso de creación, como lo vive cada uno de ellos... Clara sólo puede pintar cuando está en armonía, aunque comprende y acepta que hay artistas que sacan lo mejor de si mismos en las peores tribulaciones…Clara y Georg son dos soberbios artistas y muy distintos. Mientras Clara organiza su paleta con los colores que ya en su mente van a componer la obra, Georg se deja llevar por los estímulos del momento…Tienen estilos diferentes pero aprecian mutuamente la obra del otro.

Patagonian artists to conquer the world

Fundación Patagonia, Arte y Desafío presents its first art exhibition in the region. A series of artists were selected, painters in this case, and their work is shown at Paihuén resort in San Martín de los Andes.
During this event we interviewed two local artists, Georg Miciu Nicolaevici, internationally well known, and Clara Viale, from Bariloche, who was chosen by this foundation to support her work nationally and in the world.
Clara Viale explains that since she lives in Bariloche she started using blue and a range of greens, it is “wonderful”. “Now I use more cool colours, and also strong ochers from the steppe, that has an extraordinary presence”.

As we go further in our conversation inevitably we reach the topic of the creative process. Clara can only paint when she feels harmonic, though she understands that other artists bring out the best of themselves during the worst tribulations. Clara and Georg are two superb artists but very different from each other. While Clara organizes her palette with the colours that in her mind will compose her painting, Georg flows with the moment… Their styles are very different but they both appreciate each other´s work.
